The Caquetá Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) works to raise awareness among the inhabitants, the productive groups of merchants, ranchers, journalists, presidents of Communal Action Boards, among others, to prevent kidnapping and extortion.
In order to work to raise the security of Colombians, soldiers of the Caquetá Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) are carrying out different operations to combat extortion and kidnapping, crimes that hit the inhabitants of the department.
This is how, through checkpoints, instructions, installation of posters, loudspeakers and distribution of brochures, our soldiers disseminate the campaign I do not pay, I denounce framed within the Ayacucho Plan, which seeks to warn people about the types of extortion and its modalities; in the same way, they publicize the national hotline 147 to denounce any situation that puts people’s rights and freedoms at risk.
Thanks to these operations, in 2022 the Caquetá Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) made 58 arrests for the crime of extortion and 73 arrests for other crimes, harming the illicit activities of the multicrime organizations that commit crimes in this region.
There are more than 50 members of the Military Forces, highly trained to carry out operations that ensure the personal freedom and heritage of the department of Caqueta people. Thus, more than 17 arrests have already been made in the department this year in connection with these crimes.
The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Caquetá deploys all its technical, tactical and human resources to combat these factors of instability and provide tranquility at the Golden Gate of the Colombian Amazon.
