The activity was led by the Almirante Padilla Naval Cadet School.
Within the framework of the Bicentenary of the Colombian Navy, the Almirante Padilla Naval Cadet School led a Comprehensive Action Activity over the weekend in coordination with local authorities and private companies, in which more than 600 people of the neighborhoods of Callejón Iberia, Cartagenita, Gustavo Lemaitre, El Bosque Centro, Manzanillo and Zapatero, of Cartagena, were benefited.
From very early on, the Cartagena residents met at the Fernando de la Vega School, Almirante Padilla wing, to access free of charge the services of general medicine, gynecology, dentistry, pediatrics, optometry, psychology, care for the elderly, among others. In the same way, the children enjoyed recreational activities, distribution of school kits and snacks.
“The objective of this activity is to get closer to the community, contribute to the well-being and with those good relationships that we have with them. With all these services, the intention is to improve the quality of life and support the well-being of children and older adults,” said Rear Admiral Camilo Mauricio Gutiérrez Olano, director of the Almirante Padilla Naval Cadet School.
This activity was carried out in coordination with the Mayor's Office of Cartagena, the Basic Military Care Unit of the Naval School, Officers of the Cartagena Reserve, the Childhood and Adolescence Police, the University of Sinú, Abrazos del Alma Foundation, Unidos Foundation, IPS SerSocial Foundation, Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute - ICBF, District Institute of Sport and Recreation – IDER and the French Academy of Aesthetic Beauty.
In the same way, there was the support of the Company of Associated Ports S.A. – COMPAS, Postobón softdrinks, Coca-Cola, food bank, Harina Tres Castillos and Copservir Ltda. “Thanks to the Almirante Padilla Naval Cadet School, it has been an excellent activity, especially for the community, for us. Thank you for this operation that you have done, we like it, it fascinates us; my family has come to receive support, with general medicine, with pediatrics, and with beauty service,” said Dayra Vega Rodríguez, Vice President of the Community action Board of the Bosque Central neighborhood.
The activity was enlivened by the Group of Musicians of the Naval Cadet School, who with the sounds of tropical rhythms made the activity more entertaining, constituting a real space of social integration.
