About 650 men and women are being sent in the area to strengthen security strategies in the region and thus contribute to the economic revival after the blockades that occurred a few days ago.
In the 161 kilometers of road that connects Caucasia with Yarumal, Antioquia, the Military Forces are working with the objective of working for the security of the caravans that are currently transiting on the western trunk.
Cargo vehicles with food, agricultural products and precursors for the countryside, as well as collective passenger and private transport, are guarded by members of the Military Forces who accompany the route by land and air with the aim of leading free mobility and economic development of the region.
So far, more than 700 vehicles have already traveled by Monday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 14, both in the Caucasia - Yarumal and Yarumal - Caucasia roads, contributing to connect the Bajo Cauca region of Antioquia and so return to normality.
In addition to the military component that travels in the middle of the caravans, the troops are next to and on the side of the road at strategic points to give travelers and transporters a safe trip on this important road axis.
In addition to the work of the Joint Task Force Aquiles, the General Command of the Military Forces sent since the previous week a Battalion of Urban Special Forces and other units that have supported institutional efforts for the security and well-being of the region.
