Through the military operations carried out by the soldiers of the National Army in the department of Nariño, troops of the Twenty-Third Brigade reported the finding of an illegal hideout that contained inside more than 50 units of improvised manufactured ammunition that were ready to be used through means of launching.
This material was found in the village of La Palma in the municipality of Cumbal, which put the lives of those who live in the indigenous reserve of Mayasquer at risk, since the hiding place was in the vicinity of the aforementioned sector and a school.
Facing the finding, the troops, through the anti-explosive technicians of the Explosives and Demolitions Team, EXDE, through the procedures and under the established security protocols, proceeded to carry out the destruction of these in controlled conditions for the safety and tranquility of civilians, as well as preventing any terrorist operations against the Military Forces and the critical construction of the country, because it is presumed that this type of explosive devices are used by organized armed groups that commit crimes in this area.
