The inhabitants of the municipality of Icononzo, in the department of Tolima, changed the armed conflict, for peace. That is why, in order to continue working on this purpose, local authorities, artisans, entrepreneurs and health personnel gathered at the facilities of the Las Palmas Indoor Coliseum, in the Development Support Activity, called the Peasant Market, led by the Air Combat Command No.4, where not only the economy of this agricultural and tourist municipality par excellence was boosted, but in the same way, a health brigade was held for the benefit of the Icononzunos.
General Doctors, dentists, pediatricians, psychologists, among others, put into practice their vocation to serve, by providing consultations to patients who required different diagnoses and vaccinations. In the same way, the prescribed medicines were supplied to them. On the other hand, the entrepreneurs showed products such as: ornamental plants, coffee, cheeses, chocolate, among others, to generate income and make visible the economic activity to which they are dedicated.
After seven years of the peace agreements, its almost 12,000 inhabitants, who mainly work in the countryside, continue to work for the social and economic development of the region, something that was indispensable for the successful implementation of the activity that resulted in the economic reactivation of this territory; there were 403 beneficiaries of the health services provided during the activity.
The Colombian Air Force, will continue to work hand in hand with citizens, in the construction of the social fabric, by raising safe spaces, so that the citizens who need it most, generate sustainable income, contributing in this way to an inclusive social and economic development, within the framework of respect, opportunities and security.
