Within the framework of the work in the territory, units of the Colombian Navy reported recovering two minors, who had been forcibly recruited by the Jaime Martínez Company of the Residual Organized Armed Group Structure 6, in the Special District of Buenaventura.
During the patrols carried out by the Units of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.21, in the village of San José de Anchicayá in the rural area of Buenaventura, two young men aged 16 and 17 voluntarily approached the troops, and claimed to be part of the Residual Organized Armed Group Structure 6 Jaime Martínez.
The minors said that a year ago they were victims of forced recruitment by this illegal group, which forced them to commit crimes under its orders. They in the same way expressed having received threats against their good physical condition by the members of this illegal armed group.
Contact was immediately established with the Colombian Institute of Sectional Family Wellbeing of Buenaventura, for the restoration of the rights of the minors.
The Colombian Navy will continue to disseminate the campaigns of the Ministry of National Defense against forced recruitment and ratifies its commitment to the well-being of children, youth and adolescents of the Colombian Pacific.
