In the city of Brasilia, Brazil, the Chiefs of Staff of the Brazilian Air Force and the Colombian Air Force met in order to discuss issues of strategic, national and regional interest. They in the same way established a program of activities for the next two years, which will lead mutual collaboration in the context of globalization and for the protection of the Amazon.
In this way, giving continuity to the Security, Defense and Citizen Coexistence Policy of the Ministry of National Defense, in the line of operation of Strategy to promote an international agenda of the Security and Defense sector, this second bilateral meeting was held, chaired by Lieutenant General João Tadeu Fiorentini, Chief of the General Staff of the Brazilian Air Force, who received his counterpart of the Colombian Air Force, Major General Carlos Fernando Silva Encuentro, to have spaces that led them to share experiences, doctrine and identify opportunities for cooperation that will strengthen interoperability, as well as knowledge in space affairs and operations aimed at protecting the ecosystem.
In this way, considering the excellent relations that the Air Forces have and the visits made to the Brazilian Air Force Command, the Aerospace Operations Command, COMAE, and the Air Defense and Air Traffic Control Composite Center, CINDACTA I, different spaces will continue to be generated to train personnel in operational, logistical, space, science, technology and defense areas with the commitment to continue promoting reciprocity, in the exchange of knowledge.
