Several kilometers with the water up to the chest and a long way, soldiers and navy men had to travel in the rural area of the village Los Andes, of the municipality of Puerto Concordia, Meta, to destroy the material.
The Joint Task Force Omega, within the framework of operations in the south of the department of Meta, by key information of the National Navy, reached the finding of an illegal hideout of explosives that would have been planted to attack civilians and troops in the region.
On the mouths of Caño Cafre, with water up to their chests and after a long journey, soldiers and Navy infantry men managed to reach a sector of difficult access in the municipality of Puerto Concordia, Meta, where the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Central Staff FARC-EP structure Jorge Briceño Suárez, would have left more than 50 antipersonnel mines, detonating cord, security fuse, duplex cable, glue and an unknown explosive substance.
Expert personnel in handling explosives proceeded to destroy the material, in order to protect the lives of the troops and the civilians who were at risk, since they were allegedly going to be used to attack them. In this way, it was possible to reduce the armed capacity of the GAO who commit crimes in the department of Meta and its surroundings.
