In a timely and quick reaction, a 36-week pregnant woman was transferred from the island of Providencia to San Andrés, in a Caravan C208-B ambulance, an aircraft of the Colombian Air Force.
This mission was possible thanks to the work and professionalism of the crew and the military health personnel of the Caribbean Air Group, after receiving the call of the National Personnel Recovery Center, who reported the need to transport the woman, who had started her uterine activity.
During the flight, the patient was transferred without complications and always with constant monitoring of her vital signs, as well as the baby’s, by the medical staff and military nurse, who have high experience in this type of missions. Later, she was given to the ambulance service of the island to be taken to the departmental hospital.
