In the last few hours, Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy intercepted a ship manned by five individuals, who were allegedly trying to steal navigation items and material that was on board the ship named Albi type tanker of Panama flag, over the anchorage sector - Mamonal, Cartagena.
Crew members of the Coast Guard Station of Cartagena received the alert call from the Maritime Traffic Control Tower, about a boat that was transiting through the area, approaching suspiciously to another apparently to steal their belongings.
A Rapid Reaction Unit was immediately went to the area, finding four individuals inside the boat named Albi and one person in the smaller boat, for which they proceeded to coordinate with the National Police for the background check and identification of the people.
Thanks to the timely work of the Colombian Sailors, the boat was immobilized and taken to the facilities of the Coast Guard Station in Cartagena, while the staff was put into custody of the Police Station in order to carry out the corresponding judicial procedures.
