A new operation against the transnational crime of drug trafficking was carried out in the village of El Picacho in the municipality of Jambaló, Cauca, in a joint operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force and the National Army.
Through the coordination of Resources of the Military Forces and in an interagency work with the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find a rudimentary structure which was used to dry and pack creepy type marijuana.
During the inspection and the search carried out by surface troops of the National Army, almost 1000 kilograms of this narcotic were found by troops; this drug was ready to be marketed. Two drying systems were destroyed under controlled conditions and the material was put into custody of the authorities.
The Colombian Air Force will continue to carry out military operations through the institutional synergy, which coordinates the resources of the Military Forces and State institutions with the aim of contributing to the security of the inhabitants, countering the criminal operations of those who intend to profit from this illicit activity and also stopping the drug trafficking chain in the southwest of the country.
