In compliance with the constitutional mission, under the guidelines of the Security, defense and citizen Coexistence Policy of the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ayacucho Operational Campaign Plan, troops of the National Army, seeking to protect the lives of civilians and provide security conditions in territories under dispute of criminal organizations, carried out military operations against the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, substructure 39.
As part of this operation to stabilize the territory, carried out in a rural area of the municipality of Mapiripán, an armed confrontation occurred against the structure so called Arcesio Niño. There a man and a woman, apparently members of this residual Organized Armed Group, were arrested wounded, being given first aid by the combat nurse of the unit and subsequently put in helicopter extraction to San José del Guaviare and taken to the hospital of this municipality of the south-eastern Colombian.
During the military operation coordinated with units of the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General's Office, two firearms and military accessories material, 14 magazines, 5.56 mm caliber ammunition with 678 cartridges, and 9 mm caliber ammunition with 11 cartridges, as well as two multipurpose vests, three pixelated pants, three pixelated jackets, a pistol, two pixelated t-shirts, and other garments for exclusive use of the Military Forces were found by troops.
The arrested and the material were put into custody of the authority, for their respective prosecution process.
These individuals would be part of the armed structure outlaw, which has been carrying out criminal operations such as kidnappings and extortions against civilians, merchants, ranchers, petroleum industry and transporters of Puerto Gaitán and the Ariari region.
The urgent operations are being carried out by the Attorney General's Office, which will in the same way carry out the respective investigations.
