Giving continuity to the military operation that was initiated last July 17, against the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structures 10 and 28, in subsequent search efforts, abundant explosive material is in the same way seized.
The military operation that was carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Puerto Rondón, Arauca, jointly, coordinated and inter-institutional by troops of the Quirón Task Force of the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, produced the finding and destruction of more than 2.5 tons of explosives and more than 500 anti-personnel mines.
With this material, according to the information, the aim was to beat the life and good physical condition of the communities in this region of the country, as well as to beat members of the Military Forces.
After a deep and exhaustive search in the area, by the soldiers of the Quiron Task Force, it was in the same way possible to find 12 long weapons, 2 short weapons, more than 12,000 cartridges of different caliber and more than 60 magazines, as well as the finding of 25 units of campaign equipment, 22 camouflaged uniforms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, 49 multipurpose vests and 12 bracelets with the acronym FARC-EP.
Two computers, a scanner, USB sticks, communication equipment and a GPS were in the same way found there.
At the site of the military operation and after a firefight, troops found the structure that functioned as a workshop and training area for the criminal use of explosives for terrorist operations.
In compliance with the security protocols established by the soldiers of the explosives and demolitions group of the National Army, the 2.5 tons of explosives, 45 launching pads and 521 anti-personnel mines were destroyed under controlled conditions.
In this same place, considered the base area of the residual GAO, E-10 and 28, the means of transport that they would be using were also found by troops, including three vans, a dump truck, a tractor and nine motorcycles, which were disabled in controlled conditions by the soldiers specialized in explosives and demolitions in the National Army.
The material was put into custody of the authority to continue to conduct the judicial proceedings.
In the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the National Army continues to damage the logistical and criminal networks of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 10 and Substructure 28, to counter criminal attacks that violate human rights and the provisions of international humanitarian law, thus reaffirming the commitment to security, well-being and protection of life in the department of Arauca.
