In a coordinated military operation conducted by the National Army and the National Police, it was possible to find and destroy an illegal laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in the village of Agua Negra, municipality of Puerto Asís, department of Putumayo.
In the operation, two structures belonging to the Residual Organized Armed Group Structura 48, known as Comandos de Frontera, were dismantled, where the different phases of the production of coca paste base and the crystallization of cocaine hydrochloride, as well as its pressing and packaging, were being carried out.
This decisive blow was dealt by troops of the Twenty-Seventh Jungle Brigade of the National Army, who found in this complex 904 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride, 100 kilograms of solid precursors, 5074 gallons of liquid precursors, machinery, equipment and other elements used to obtain the narcotic.
This structure had the capacity to produce 3000 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride on a monthly basis; with its destruction, the National Army hit in more than 28,000,000 million dollars the finances of the Second Marquetalia, which commits crimes in the Colombian Amazon. In the same way, it prevented the monthly circulation of more than 56,000 million doses of narcotics on the international illegal market, and mitigated the pollution of natural resources in jungle areas.
The illegal structures, drugs and supplies were destroyed in controlled conditions at the scene, by members of the Judicial Police under strict security regulations and preserving all measures for the preservation of the environment.
With this result, troops hit the financial structure of this criminal organization, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and clashes against other structures specialized in drug trafficking.
