During joint operations conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Army, with the support of the Colombian Aerospace Force, five laboratories used for the production of coca base paste in the department of Chocó were found and destroyed.
As a result of these operations, the troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16, attached to the Joint Task Force Titan, found solid and liquid supplies, including 1,140 kilograms of coca leaf, 630 kilograms of cement, 430 kilograms of lime, 200 kilograms of ammonium sulfate, 110 kilograms of urea, 1,061 gallons of DIESEL, 1,210 gallons of gasoline, 400 gallons of fuels and 30 gallons of acetone. In the same way, three rudimentary presses, three rudimentary filters, two hydraulic jacks, seven rudimentary mixers, a clock-type scale, a scale, two choppers and two scythes were found by troops.
The five laboratories, made in rudimentary way with wooden structures, were destroyed in a controlled way in the Curvaradó River in the municipality of Carmen del Darién. They allegedly belonged to the Carlos Vásquez substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
