This illegal complex was built in the area of interference of the Residual Organized Armed Group, (GAO-r), Iván Ríos, and its destruction generates an economic loss of more than 7000 million COP.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, in an operation carried out by troops of the National Army's Anti-Drug Trafficking Battalion No. 4, in a coordinated and inter-institutional manner with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find and destroy an illegal laboratory used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in the village of El Paraíso, Mallama municipality, Nariño department, where more than 1250 kilograms of this drug were found by troops; from this laboratory drug trafficking organizations could extract about two million doses.
The military operation was carried out thanks to the information provided by military intelligence, which led to the finding and destruction of the rudimentary complex, where drugs, liquid and solid supplies and elements for its operation were found by troops. Troops found 1253.5 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 161.2 kilograms of coca paste base, 1165 kilograms of solid precursors, 389 gallons of liquid precursors, 1265 gallons of fuels and abundant material used for the production of narcotics.
With this result, the illegal structures that commit crimes in the region are hit by approximately 7,000 million pesos, especially the GAO-r Iván Ríos, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and confrontations with other structures specialized in drug trafficking in this region of the country.
It is important to highlight that the residues of these chemical substances that were generated in this rudimentary laboratory were left uncontrolled and indiscriminately to the soils and water sources of the Paramo Azufral, considerably and irreparably polluting the environment.
