During the search procedures, three ponchos and nine backpacks impregnated with cocaine, a new way to traffic this type of substance, were found by troops.
As part of a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Attorney General's Office, two people were arrested for drug trafficking in Santiago de Cali - Valle del Cauca.
Up to a house in the neighborhood El Jardín of Santiago de Cali, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Buenaventura of the Colombian Navy and the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) arrived, and in compliance with a search warrant, they arrested two men for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
During the operation, a bag with a white substance was found, to which an Approved Preliminary Identification Test was made, which left a positive result for 97 grams of cocaine hydrochloride. In the same way, three ponchos and nine backpacks impregnated with the drug were found by troops, which were allegedly programmed to be sent to Central America.
According to preliminary information, this type of drug trafficking would be used by criminal groups specialized in drug trafficking to expand their criminal activity to other countries.
Those arrested were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office 102 Specialized Directorate Against Organized Crime, for prosecution for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
