There are more than 12 thousand inhabitants of three communities in the departments of Caquetá and Putumayo who will benefit of the start of the development support campaign Navegando al Corazón del Caquetá, which this year is part of the celebration of the Naval Bicentenary of the Colombian Navy.
On the banks of the Caquetá River, civil and military authorities together with inhabitants of Solano - gathered to give the opening of this campaign, which began to the rhythm of dance. On this occasion, the Light River Patrol Boats ARC Hichamon and the ARC Ledesma will be in charge of transporting the volunteers of the Santa Alianza Foundation of Bogotá, and representatives of six public and private organizations, who for nine days will provide services to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of Solano - Caquetá and La Tagua and Mecaya in the department of Putumayo, on the banks of this important river artery.
These two river units of the Colombian Navy will sail 183 kilometers on the Caquetá River to benefit 12,595 inhabitants, who will receive comprehensive care, thanks to the wishes of the Caquetá Governorate, the Municipal Mayor's Office of Puerto Leguízamo and public and private sector organizations.
During this first of Sailing to the Heart of Caquetá, an initiative led by the Colombian Navy, health services, recreation and humanitarian aid will be provided. These processes will be carried out conducted by the Naval Institution in a coordinated work with the Health Secretariats of the Caquetá Governorate, local Mayors, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing - ICBF, the National Civil Registry office, the Santa Alianza Foundation, the National Army, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police.
