As a sample of response capacity and inter-institutional collaboration, the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC) joined the fire mitigation operations in the municipality of Bojacá, Cundinamarca, to control and extinguish a devastating forest fire that threatened the tranquility of the community.
In coordination with the local and regional authorities, the Aerospace Force through the Air Maintenance Command (CAMAN) deployed a team, to face the emergency. About 400 gallons of water were prepared to counteract, from multiple fronts, the heavy flares that occur in this wooded area of the country.
The effective response to reach the site of the fire about 18 kilometers of the municipality of Madrid, was possible thanks to the close collaboration conducted by the Maintenance Air Command, local and regional firefighters, as well as municipal authorities, leading a joint and effective operation that safeguarded lives, properties and the natural environment.
CAMAN reaffirms its commitment to the safety and well-being of the Colombian people. This intervention in the Bojacá fire reflects the fundamental role played by the Aerospace Force in emergency situations, always ready to protect citizens and the environment.
