The explosive devices were allegedly planted indiscriminately by the Urías Rondón structure of the FARC dissidents.
In the framework of a military operation framed in the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, carried out by units of the Hercules Joint Task Force, 250 anti-personnel mines were found by troops. Those elements were ready to be transported and planted in the Tangareal village, rural area of the municipality of Tumaco, Nariño.
The first reports indicate that the place where the explosives were going to be destined, would be conditioned as a prepared area, with the aim of attacking the lives of civilians and the Military Forces.
The Military forces, after a thorough search through the thick vegetation, found the illegal hideout of explosives, where the criminals hid the anti-personnel mines. There they were found by troops in the middle of the soil with plastic bags so that they would not be detected by the inhabitants specialized in working the land and cultivating palm throughout the region of the Pacific coast of Nariño.
As it could be established, these dangerous elements would belong to the dissidents of the FARC Urias Rondon structure that commits crimes in this region of the country.
So far this year there are already 1,905 explosive devices that the Military Forces have destroyed on the Pacific coast of Nariño, safeguarding the good physical condition of the different productive groups, peasants, social and communal sectors, among others, who carry out agricultural and fishing work on rural areas.
After the finding, the explosive material was destroyed in controlled conditions by anti-explosive technicians of the Military Forces, in accordance with the stipulated security protocols and maintaining the necessary techniques and tactics to work for raising security in the area.
With this important operational result, a decisive blow is dealt to the logistical and criminal networks of the organized armed groups who use these elements to commit terrorist operations against the life of civilians and the Military Forces.
