With a new cleaning activity in Jhonny Cay, the Colombian Aerospace Force, in conjunction with the Coral Environmental Corporation, carried out the collection of special waste in order to keep this tourist site in optimal conditions for inhabitants and tourists.
Through the Comprehensive Action Section of the Caribbean Air Group, the military personnel received a talk about the area and about the importance of taking care of the beaches; after this, the collection of small residues which can reach the sea ecosystems and contaminate the different specimens in the Caribbean Sea, was initiated.
Different types of small waste such as plastics, bottle caps, straws and cigarette butts, were collected and put into custody of Coralina to then separate and dispose of them in the corresponding areas for this type of garbage; this with the aim of keeping the tourist sites clean for the inhabitants and tourists of the island.
