After months of investigation, three alleged members of an Organized Gang were arrested in the municipality of Espinal, department of Tolima, and accused of carrying out commissioned killings in this municipality. The above was possible thanks to a joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, Colombian National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office of the Nation.
Those arrested and presumed responsible for homicides such as that of police officer Andrés Mauricio Arce Gómez, on August 31, who died from rifle shot wounds in the municipality of Espinal, were put into custody of the authority for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes, manufacturing, trafficking or illegal carrying of firearms or ammunition and aggravated homicide.
As part of the operation, three traumatic pistol-type firearms were found by troops, along with two shotguns, a revolver-type firearm, ammunition, clothing apparently used in the acts of hitmen, two motorcycles, a van and five cell phones.
The men and women of the Colombian Aerospace Force, within the framework of the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Plan, will continue to be working for the protection of the inhabitants, deploying all their resources to weaken both criminal networks and their illicit activities, which directly disturb the peace and tranquility of Colombians.
