A UH-60 Angel helicopter of the Colombian Aerospace Force arrived in a rural area of the municipality of Urrao, Antioquia, to save the lives of two children aged 12 months and 3 years, with gastrointestinal conditions.
After a previous coordination with National Army troops, as responsible of the minors, the National Center for Personnel Recovery, - CENRP- and the Air Combat Command No. 5, in Rionegro - Antioquia, a Black Hawk helicopter in Angel configuration was sent, which deprted Puntas de Ocaidó, southwest of the department, to carry out the humanitarian mission.
During the flight to Medellín, military doctors and staff rescuers of the Aerospace Institution monitored the vital signs of the children, working for optimal and stable conditions until their landing at the Pedro Justo Berrío Battalion, where an ambulance was waiting to transfer them to a higher-level medical center in the capital city of the department of Antioquia.
