During October, Colombian Navy troops added to the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, and disabled 34 illegal constructions, in which drug trafficking organizations apparently produced illicit substances.
The members of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, reached the most inhospitable areas of the municipalities of El Charco, Olaya Herrera, Santa Bárbara de Iscuandé and Tumaco in the department of Nariño, finding 34 laboratories in which were found by troops about 4,500 kilograms of solid precursors, including coca leaf and cement, as well as more than 14,300 gallons of liquid precursors such as coca leaf in process, fuel, acetone and ammonia, substances used for the production of coca base paste and cocaine.
Each of these structures, which would have the capacity to accommodate up to 20 people, was equipped with numerous utensils, household appliances and devices used in the narcotics production chain.
The laboratories along with the material were destroyed on the place by the military personnel, in coordination with the Judicial Police, complying with the established protocols.
In the same way, in the effective searches and river operations, Colombian sailors arrested four individuals in flagrante delicto for the crime of carrying firearms and common crime, and found 10 short-range weapons, 64 ammunition of different calibers and three boats with smuggled fuel.
With these results, the finances of the multi-criminal organizations that commit crimes in the Nariño Pacific region were hit by more than five billion pesos.
