So far this year, the Colombian Navy has found more than 76 tons of marijuana of drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific.
The sea control and comprehensive maritime security operations carried out by the Colombian Navy in the North Pacific led to the finding of 905 kilograms of marijuana and 836 grams of explosive material.
In this operation, which had international support, units of the Colombian Navy, guided by naval intelligence information, found floating in the sea 36 sacks with 1070 rectangular packages, which by their characteristics and smell would be marijuana, and a metal cylinder apparently with explosives.
Subsequently, the material was taken to the Special District of Buenaventura in Valle del Cauca, where the Technical Investigation Staff of the Attorney General's Office conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test – PIPH, leaving positive result for marijuana, 905 kilograms, and 836 grams of explosive material inside the cylinder.
With this blow dealt to drug trafficking organizations, the Colombian Navy prevented more than five and a half million dollars from entering their finances and the distribution of about 150 thousand doses on the streets of the world.
