In order to comprehensively strengthen the productive fishing system in the center of the country, the Colombian Aerospace Force, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cundinamarca, the fishermen of the region, and the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Authority (AUNAP), carried out the fish repopulation process in the upper Magdalena River basin.
During the activity, one million new fishes were released into this water source, specimens such as: Bocachico, Pataló and Cachama, are expected to increase production and fishing in this region of the country.
The planting of fish becomes a beacon of hope for sustainable development, food security and the fishing people of the Magdalena River.
