A quick and timely operation of the soldiers of the Fifth Brigade and the Aviation Mobility and Maneuver Battalion No. 2 led to saving the life of a minor who urgently needed to be evacuated from Malaga, Santander, for a surgical intervention of greater complexity, and that could only be conducted in Bucaramanga.
A Black Hawk helicopter arranged by Colombian National Army moved from Barrancabermeja to the capital city of the province of García Rovira, to transfer this minor. Thus, in less than half an hour, he arrived in the capital city of Santander where he receives specialized care in a hospital.
The little boy, native to San José de Miranda, Santander, arrived in the last few hours referred from the health post of that municipality to Malaga and, there, due to his diagnosis, it became necessary to transfer him to a hospital that had the specialty of pediatric surgery. A road trip by ambulance conducted from this point and the city of Bucaramanga usually takes approximately 6 to 7 hours along a road that in some sections presents difficulties in the terrain, which makes its use more difficult, and which would worsen the health conditions of the minor.
Given cases like this, Colombian National Army, safeguard minors, since they are subjects of special constitutional protection, and sent the necessary resources to work to raise life.
