Sucre. In an area search and control operation, the Military Gaula of Sucre of the National Navy, in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, captured three extortionists in the department of Sucre.
The operation took place in the urban area of the municipality of San Marcos, where the three individuals received four million pesos, result of an extortion. The men belonged to a common criminal group and posed as members of the National Liberation Army - ELN - to intimidate their victims and demand large sums of money in exchange for not threatening their lives.
The individuals were put into custody of the Eighth Prosecutor's Office of Sincelejo, Sucre, for their prosecution for the crime of extortion.
