In the framework of the permanent operation of the National Navy against drug trafficking in the departments of Bolívar and Cesar, it was possible to find 1,750 gallons of illegal fuel, which were transported in boats.
The fluvial control operations carried out by the Infantry Battalion No.17 in the Magdalena River and its tributaries during the recent week, resulted in the discovery of 1,430 gallons of gasoline and 320 gallons of DIESEL, distributed in 42 barrels, which were transported in metal boats.
At the time of the inspection of the motor ships, the individuals transporting the fuel did not possess the Certificate to transport these substances or the documentation that is required for the transport of this material, so it is presumed that the fuel would be used by outlaw groups for the production of alkaloids.
During operations, no captures were reported. The material was put into custody of the authorities.
