The arrests are made after the failed attempt of the alleged militia men to attack the troops while they were watching over the safety of the travelers during the festive weekend.
Arauca. The Quirón Task Force managed to hit the criminal capacity of the Domingo Laín Sáenz del Eln front, with the capture of three alleged members of its terrorist support networks that sought to attack the Military Units that were in operations in the department of Arauca.
The events took place in the village El Consuelo, municipality of Saravena, on the road that leads to Fortul, where individuals who were traveling in a vehicle launched four explosive devices to the mechanized platoon that was serving in a checkpoint. It is a criminal act that thanks to the opportune reaction of the soldiers was neutralized.
The effective military operation led to safeguard the good physical condition of the military and the people who pass through the sector. The troops neutralized the criminal intentions of the organized armed group that continues to conduct the indiscriminate use of these unconventional weapons in violation of International Humanitarian Law.
Those captured were taken to the capital of Sarare for the respective judicial process, where they were put in prison for the crimes of terrorism; conspiracy to commit a crime; and manufacture, trafficking and illegal possession of firearms of restricted use of the Military Forces.
