The maintenance and improvement works of the structure were executed after an agreement conducted by the National Army and the municipal Mayor's Office.
Caquetá. After ten months of maintenance and improvement work, the Tenth Brigade of the National Army with the Mayor of El Doncello, introduced a pedestrian bridge in the village of La Serranía, in the north of Caquetá, benefiting the community of ten more hamlets.
The structure, 70 meters long, 1.08 meters wide, on the river El Doncello, benefits the inhabitants of the villages of Juanchito, Laureles, San Pedro Bajo, Anayacito and La Serranía. It was intervened after a request of the community to the Cavalry Mechanized battalion No. 12 'General Ramón Arturo Rincón Quiñones' in which they requested the collaborations to repair the bridge that due to the normal use and time in service was not efficient for children to pass by it to get their school.
The Municipal Administration managed the project in the frame of the program “Faith in Colombia – Pasión Caquetá”, and provided the resources so that during 90 days a non-commissioned officer and ten soldiers of the Military Engineers Battalion No. 12 'General Liborio Mejía', changed the wires that supported the structure and fastened it with staples, the obsolete wooden floor was replaced by 12 x 2.5 millimeters firm sheets and the accesses were improved.
