On November 22, from 9 am to 11 am, at the Jorge Esguerra López Theater will be held the second activity of talks of the Chronic Clinic of the institution, this time the specialists of the Institution will talk about diabetes in the frame of the commemoration of the world day of this disease.
Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the patient can not regulate the amount of sugar in the blood, this, because the decrease in production and / or resistance to insulin, which is a hormone produced by the pancreas to control the glucose in blood.
When we eat food, a process occurs in the body through which food is used by the body to obtain energy. In this process it happens that the sugar, called glucose, enters the bloodstream, sugar is one of the sources of energy for the body, then pancreas intervenes to produce insulin.
The specialists of the Hospital will deepen into the disease, its causes, what types of diabetes exist, the figures of care in the institution and how the disease can be prevented.
