The Seventh Brigade of the National Army, during the implementation of the Diamante Plan, has heavily counteracted the drug trafficking and organized armed groups in this region.
The National Army, through the Seventh Brigade, achieved important results in the department of Meta to comply with the 100 days of the Diamante Plan, with blunt blows against criminal structures, common crime, drug trafficking, extortion, animals stealing, eradication of illicit plantations, among others, thanks to the work with the other Military Forces and the National Police, State institutions, unions and the civic participation network, which guaranteed the security and protection of the citizens in the region.
Thus, in military territorial control operations carried out by the Seventh Brigade, 40 individuals belonging to organized armed groups were captured. In the same way drug trafficking was hit with the eradication of 317 hectares of illicit plantations. Troops also have discovered and destroyed 24 illegal hideouts (caches) and five laboratories of cocaine hydrochloride, more than 4,000 gallons of precursors for drug trafficking were destroyed along with 21.35 kilograms of coca base; in addition, more than 900 gallons of cocaine have been seized.
On the other hand, it was possible to find 27 weapons, 8,318 ammunition cartridges and the neutralization of 112 antipersonnel mines, which reduced the operation capacity of the crime and neutralized the criminal operations.
It is important to highlight that during the 100 days of the execution of the Diamante Plan important blows to the criminal structures and common crime have occurred, such as the finding of 443 grenades belonging to the organized armed group Los Puntilleros Bloque Meta, the discovery of 409 kilograms of marihuana belonging to the organized armed group Los Puntilleros Libertadores del Vichada and the dismantling of a group that perpetrated counterfeiting of national and foreign currency.
The Force of Comprehensive Action
The National Army, in compliance with the Diamante Plan, in the same way managed to support a variety of State services with development proposals aimed at the community, which helps to promote productive, infrastructure and environmental projects.
At the same time, it led a Business Meeting held in the municipality of Uribe, in the department of Meta, where more than 50 small and medium-sized producers directly traded their products and conducted business meeting with no need for have intermediaries to expand their business to new markets.
In the same way, an activity was carried out to support the development and also conduct the official presentation of "Mi Vereda Modelo" program in the municipality of Mesetas. Different environmental activities, community works and roads control checkpoints were in the same way carried out, benefiting more than 3,000 inhabitants, and contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of the civilian population and its progress.
