The Marine Infantry Training Base in Coveñas, in the department of Sucre, was visited by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Peter Ptassek; the First Councilor of the Republic of France, Anne Petot; the Director of the United Nations related to Mines Service (UNMAS in Spanish), Jan Philip; the Defense Attaché of France in Colombia, Colonel María Concepción Rodríguez and the Defense Attaché of Germany in Colombia, Lieutenant Colonel Christian Rauwolf.
Accompanied by the Marine Infantry Training Base Commander, Brigadier General of Marine Infantry Ricardo Ernesto Vargas Cuéllar, they observed the different skills that the tactical units of the Base as an International Amphibian Training Center (CIEAN), which carried out demonstrations of its courses such as a High Precision Shooter and personal defense, in the same way the Center for Training and preparation for Peace Operations (Cencopaz), demonstrated humanitarian demining and practical exercise of 'Check Point' in French, having in mind that this is the official language of the African territories, where the majority of Peace Operations are carried out.
The demonstration was carried out by the UN Military Observer and the UN Basic Soldier courses, which progress in the Center and received instruction on UN Technical French language during 70 hours. The objective of this practical exercise is to demonstrate protocols of the United Nations, for tactical tasks of checkpoints and patrols.
