Putumayo. During an operation of surveillance, interdiction and security, in the municipality of Mecaya, in the municipality of Puerto Leguízamo, in the department of Putumayo, men of the National Navy found 1,010 gallons of fuel, which were transported, illegally, in 18 metal barrels, on board of a rudimentary boat.
The material was being transported by an individual of Colombian nationality, who, at the time of the inspection, did not present the proper documentation for the transportation of the fuel, nor the navigation chart for the ship.
The fuel was put into custody of the authority of Mecaya, in the department of Putumayo.
The National Navy, through its units in the rivers of the south of the country, will continue to carry out operations to guarantee compliance with the regulations and existing legislation for the transportation of fuel, preventing crimes such as smuggling and drug trafficking.
