In military territorial control operations, troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 8 'Batalla de Pichincha', the Ground Operations Battalion No. 109 of the Third Brigade, with the support of the Air Force, find and destroy a laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride, in the village of Las Brisas, municipality of Suárez, in the department of Cauca.
The laboratory consisted of 639 gallons of acetone, 150 kilos of caustic soda, 50 kilos of lime, 50 kilos of calcium, one gallon of sulfuric acid, 22 kilos of food, two compressors, four ovens, a vacuum packing machine, A “Martian” (rudimentary distillation tower), two gas cylinders and an power generator.
The destruction of the material is done without causing collateral damage; the confiscated material was put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office.
