Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in the department of Valle and in the department of Cauca, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, achieved the release of the businessman Harold Bermúdez Ayala in a rural area of the municipality of Buenos Aires, Cauca, employee of the gambling company El Gordo, who had been kidnapped on September 4 of the current year in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao.
The important maneuver was executed in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, where the Bicentenary Heroes of the Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom of the Third Division arrived to find the whereabouts of this businessman.
Thanks to the ‘Yo No Pago, Yo Denuncio’ campaign of the Military Gaula, they began a military intelligence work to track the whereabouts of Mr. Harold Bermúdez Ayala and his captors, activating a joint Padlock plan in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao.
At the time of rescue two individuals were captured. They were put into custody of the authorities.
This kidnapping would have been perpetrated by the residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) ‘Jaime Martínez’.
