The emergency was reported by the Fluvial Support Patrol ARC Jorge Moreno Salazar, who was in the area, so immediately Coast Guard Units attached to the Pacific Naval Force moved to the sector.
It was established that a family consisting of two adults and two minors traveled on one of the boats, who shipwrecked as a result of the collision.
At the moment, the Naval Force of the Pacific, managed to recover the lifeless body of an adult and in coordination with the Maritime General Directorate, the search and rescue operations continue to be executed with the Coast Guard Units of Buenaventura and expert divers, in order to achieve the finding of a child under seven years of age who is missing.
The other two people, including a minor, were taken to a health center in Buenaventura, where they are recovering satisfactorily.
The Maritime General Directorate investigates the causes of the collision of these two ships.
