In search and rescue operation, Colombian Navy Units rescue two people alive who traveled aboard a ship named "Capi Chuco", in the Bay of Santa Marta, in the department of Magdalena.
This motorboat used for the transport of passengers, was drifting due to failures in the main engine, when adverse weather conditions caused the boat and its crew to be pushed out to sea.
Once the emergency was known, Rapid Reaction Units of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta, immediately dealt with the situation, an operation that led to the timely assistance of the shipwrecked and the towing of the boat to the safe harbor.
“The Colombian Navy will always be ready to face any emergency that occurs in the seas and rivers, especially those that may endanger the lives of the inhabitants and tourists of the Colombian Caribbean. We report tranquility, and our Units are deployed and operating permanently to guarantee maritime and river safety in this region of the country” said Frigate Captain Fredman Jiménez Cifuentes, Commander of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta.
