The individuals would have kidnapped and then disappeared the victim, after not obtaining the money demanded for his rescue.
Troops of the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in coordination with the Technical Investigation Corps of the Prosecutor's Office, captured three individuals accused kidnapping a citizen of Irish nationality in the municipality of Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, for whom they demanded his family the sum of 150 thousand euros.
The victim had been reported as kidnapped through some international media in October 2019. After the investigations carried out by the authorities last December, it was possible to capture one of the members of the criminal group at the service of drug trafficking, directed by alias 'Marín', who worked hand in hand with FARC dissidents. After sustained monitoring the investigators capture three more kidnappers belonging to the group, who at this time must face charges for the alleged crimes of aggravated kidnapping and homicide.
According to the information, the victim would have been handed over to a group of FARC dissidents that commit crimes in northern Cauca, so the investigations of the case are still ongoing.
