Units of the Colombian Navy intensify the search and rescue work for three people, who would have set sail from Puerto Estrella, in Alta Guajira over the weekend, in the course of fishing work.
An alert call of the family member of one of the crew of the boat, gave notice to the Puerto Bolívar Coast Guard Station, about the possible emergency occurred at sea.
The deployment of Rapid Reaction Units at the Puerto Bolívar and Ballenas Stations began immediately, with the support of a maritime patrol plane belonging to the Caribbean Aeronaval Group, patrolling the area 60 miles of the coast.
This search is complemented by units of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Station and Port authorities, in order to give notice to the navigators and in the same way strengthen the search efforts for the three people.
The Colombian Navy, through the Caribbean Naval Force, will continue in the area with the logistical and human resources that will lead to find the whereabouts of the three crewmembers of the ship, while calling on citizens to comply to the restrictions of mobility and transport of personnel ordered by the National Government because of the Covid-19.
