Air Combat Command No. 3 has conducted procedures that have extinguished the fire.
During the last four days, the Colombian Air Force, through CACOM 3, has advanced missions to safeguard the ecosystems of Isla Salamanca. Through a Bell 212 helicopter, suitable with the Bambi Bucket system, 49 water drops have been made, equivalent to 12,026 gallons of water, 28 gallons of retardant liquid and more than 11 hours of flight, supported by aircraft with intelligence platforms.
Colombian Air Force stills supporting this mission with the help of Bomberos Voluntarios de Sitio Nuevo (Volunteer Firefighters of Sitio Nuevo) and the park Brigadiers, providing security, transportation and support to the needs required to control and stifle this forest emergency on Isla Salamanca.
