Through military intelligence, it was possible to free a merchant and a public transport driver in Antioquia.
In the fight against kidnapping and extortion, units of the Meta military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) reach the municipality of Guamal, Meta, after intelligence information, where it was suspected the presence of five members allegedly of the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-R) Estructura 40, who carried weapons and explosives and allegedly kidnapped two individuals.
Immediately the troops moved to the place, where they rescued two men, aged 33 and 27, who claimed to have been kidnapped since last August 14, by four individuals who identified themselves as members of the residual GAO Estructura 40.
The two people rescued claimed to be a trader and a driver of public transport, natives to Medellin, Antioquia, who were in the municipality of Granada, buying a vehicle, when they were approached by four individuals, who took them to a wooded area in the municipality of Guamal, Meta.
After the rescue, the troops provided primary care to check their health prior to the reunion with their families.
In the operation was seized a revolver, a pistol, more than 100 cartridges of different calibers, six magazines, a silencer, four unarmed mines, shrapnel, explosives and radios.
