During an underwater inspection carried out by divers of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta on the boat Algoma Valour, which was destined for the Port Las Mareas in Puerto Rico, a red irregular modification (parasite-like) was found attached to the hull, containing inside it 1.98 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The diving personnel of the Colombian Navy proceeded to remove the box of the hull of the boat and then transport it to the facilities of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta for a more detailed revision.
In coordination with the staff of the technical investigation Corps, CTI, of the prosecutor's Office of Santa Marta, the device was opened and two rectangular packages were found inside. The preliminary identification test, PIPH, was carried out leaving positive result for cocaine hydrochloride.
The cocaine was put into custody of the prosecutor's Office of the immediate reaction unit, URI, of the city of Santa Marta and no captures occurred during the operation.
