In compliance with the Bicentenary Campaign Plan ‘Heroes Of Freedom' , troops of the Joint Task Force Hercules, recover six minors and capture seven alleged members of the residual organized armed group “Los contadores” in the sector of Inda Zabaleta, municipality of Llorente, in Tumaco municipality, in Nariño.
This result came after units of the National Army engaged a fight against alleged members of this GAO-r, who according to intelligence information were responsible for collecting money from extortions and threatening civilians, as well as the displacement of civilians in sectors such as Inda Guacaray, El Burro and La Batea of Tumaco.
During the operation, three pistols, a revolver, four hand grenades, three magazines, ammunition of different calibres, a motorcycle-type vehicle, military accessories and communications equipment, as well as coca base paste were found by troops. With this result, 29 minors who have been recovered of the ranks of structures that commit crimes in the Pacific region of the department in 2020.
The recovered children were handed over to the Family Wellbeing institute to begin the process of restoring their rights. The seven individuals were put into custody of the authority for judicial process.
