Units of the Colombian Navy carried out the search and rescue operation of a boat that sank with 16 migrants on board, in the area of Terrón De Azúcar, in the municipality of Acandí, department of Chocó,
Once the emergency call was received, the Caribbean Naval Force deployed Rapid Reaction Units of the Urabá Coast Guard Station, in order to establish the location of the Haitian migrants, who sailed last Sunday from Turbo, Antioquia. Eight adults and a minor were rescued and two corpses were found.
At the moment, the search for three adults and two minors is conducted with air support of the maritime patrol aircraft and by the surface unit ARC 11 de Noviembre.
