The military operations carried out throughout the country have led to significant results in the last 24 hours for the troops deployed in different regions of the country.
In the first operation, against the illegal activities, soldiers of the Fourth Division of the National Army, in the fulfillment of the constitutional mission in the sector known as Casa azul, in the municipality of Miraflores, department of Guaviare, captured in flagrante delicto the individual known as the Santos Mesías Cortes, alias Mesías, who, at the time of his arrest, was carrying approximately 900 grams of coca base paste. This person had been in the process of reintegration since 2017 and was currently enjoying the benefits of the National Government under the special justice for the peace.
Meanwhile, the operation in the municipality of Ituango, Antioquia, resulted in the capture of two individuals and the death in the course of military operations of three members of the organized armed group, Gao, Clan del Golfo del Golfo, who confronted troops of the Seventh Division deployed in the sector; in the course of the military operation, three long weapons were found.
In the same way, in the municipality of Novita, Department of Chocó, two members of the Ernesto Che Guevara Front of the GAO ELN were captured and put into custody of the authority. In development of this operation was found a short weapon, ammunition of different calibers and a GPS. In a simultaneous operation, joint troops of the National Army and Navy of Colombia on the Atrato River reported the finding of 3,547 cartridges, 12 radio Chargers, 2,460 pairs of batteries and 14 bracelets alluding to the substructure Heroes de Jesús Carretera of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
The pressure of the operations carried out by the Joint Task Force Hercules, in the municipality of Magüí Payán, Nariño, led a member of the GAO Clan del Golfo to surrender by handing over a long rifle and five magazines with their respective ammunition. The individual and material were put into custody of the authority.
Finally, units of the National Navy deployed in the Departments of Caquetá, and Cesar, find 2,700 gallons of fuel that did not have the documentation proving its origin.
The strategy of the military forces, coordinated with other institutional efforts and following the guidelines of the State defense and security policy, will maintain operations that led to face the main threats against the inhabitants, generating conditions for the governance and socio-economic development of the nation.
