In order to continue guaranteeing the human rights of the inhabitants of the municipality of El Salado, in the municipality of El Carmen de Bolívar, troops participated in the workshop: Sowing culture in Human Rights, led by the presidency of the Republic.
The activity that was led by the Presidential Adviser on Human Rights and International Affairs, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, had the participation of Rear Admiral Juan Ricardo Rozo Obregón, commander of the Naval Force of the Caribbean, accompanied by of Colonel Tahir Rivera Suescún, commander of the Bolivar police; Vicente Antonio Blel Scaff, Governor of Bolivar; Carlos Eduardo Torres Cohen, Mayor of El Carmen de Bolívar; Luis Andrés Fajardo, early warning advocate; as well as delegates of the ministries of Interior, Health, Defense, Agriculture and Justice, and top government officials.
The inter-agency meeting showed the active participation of the community, it is part of the commitments made during the Security Council, which was held last January 23, 2021 focused on the guarantee of Human Rights, security operations, progress in the investigations of threats against social leaders and the review of projects submitted by the Mayor of El Carmen de Bolívar, in the framework of the Program of Development with a Territorial Approach (PDET).
Meanwhile, with the support of the inhabitants, technical work tables were held to bring the institutional services in matters of security, health, infrastructure, agriculture, justice and reparation of victims.
For its part, the Colombian Navy, through the Caribbean Naval force, in coordination with the National Police, has reinforced the number of units, which is permanently guarding the access roads, conducting patrols in the urban area and surrounding areas.
