In order to contribute to quality education and generate social wellbeing, for a week the soldiers worked, in the last week of February, hand in hand with the indigenous reserves of Curuelakat, Urrachikat, Kidos and Uyaraipa, benefiting more than 850 families.
The National Army through its soldiers of the Comprehensive Action Support Battalion No.1 and the Cartagena Battalion joined the Hilo Sagrado Foundation, to continue working for the Wayúu, communities in rural Riohacha.
It is important to note that this operation was carried out in several fields of operation, the first with the distribution of 350 school kits, composed of notebooks, rulers, pencils and colored pencils that aim to promote education in children and adolescents. The second, aimed at nutrition, and food baskets were distributed in four community stores, where families can approach to exchange their artisanal products for food.
And the last field of operation is aimed at the empowerment and economic development of communities, through rudimentary workshops, which aim to promote the productive projects of some Indigenous families.
In the same way, it is important to highlight that during these activities the National Army in the same way participated with its Program Fe en Colombia, which works to strengthen institutions, generating spaces for the empowerment of community leaders.
