Thanks to the rapid reaction of an Air Force unit of the Colombian Navy, a 59-year-old adult with a fractured collarbone was evacuated from Providencia island to San Andrés.
This humanitarian assistance operation was conducted in a timely manner after the call from the Local Hospital of Providencia, which reported on the delicate condition of the man, who had suffered a traffic accident while traveling on a motorcycle.
Immediately, the specific command of San Andrés Y Providencia deployed a naval aviation helicopter, which led to the transfer of the adult with his son to San Andrés, where he was received by a medical and assistance team of the Military Health establishment 1042. He was subsequently taken in an ambulance to the Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial Hospital for required medical assistance.
